A FUNDRAISING artist is auctioning off a signed piece of artwork in aid of a lifesaving charitable organisation.
Neil Higgs is selling off a beautiful and colourful fine art action piece to raise money for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance after unveiling it earlier this year Coggeshall Village Hall.
The stunning work, which is entitled Ready To Respond and has been completed in oils, depicts both the organisation’s famous helicopters and ground vehicles built up on a blue backdrop featuring North Weald control tower.
Bidding on the 1000mm x 700mm creative landscape kick-offs today, after trustees and executives from the charity, as well as paramedics, doctors, pilots and the artist himself, have scribbled their signatures onto the canvas.
The auction will run until September 15 giving the artwork a chance to generate interest, and hopefully more donations for the charity, by appearing at several pop-up events and exhibitions across the county.
Gosfield Shopping Village will display the artwork for two days over the weekend of June 29 and June 30, before the piece is moved to the Gosfield Gallery as part of its Summer Exhibition for the entirety of July.
It will also make an appearance at the launch event for the Smoke and Fire Festival in Maldon, as well a number of other places.
