SUCCULENT helpings from the BBQ, child-occupying bouncy castles and deliciously milky ice creams are just some of the deal-sealers set to be on offer at a forthcoming, fundraising fete.

St. Margaret’s Prep School in Gosfield is hosting a family fun day, which has been entirely organised by the highly-regarded institution’s PA group.

The proactive parents are hoping the event will generate enough money to fund a quiet garden area in the school, so students who struggle with loud spaces can find solace and peace in the calming environment of the silent greenery.

And there will be plenty of opportunities for those in attendance to dig deep, as a juicy, rotating hog roast will be serving up tender meats, a variety of games will provide hours of entertainment, and a Great British Bake Off-styled cooking competition, that everyone can take part in, will pit budding bakers against each other to see who can produce the most flavoursome cakes.

Speaking about the fun day, parent and PA member Friederike Venables said: ‘‘We are all very excited about our fun day and are expecting a great turnout.

‘‘Many parents, teachers and children have come together to make it happen and we hope we can raise enough money to develop our quiet garden.’’

The family fun day will take place next Sunday between 11am-4pm. Entrance to the event is free, but donations are accepted.
