A PRESTIGIOUS circus troupe will be coming to Burnham this month.
Santus Circus is coming to Elmwood Equestrian Centre, in Maldon Road, from May 15-19.
The French-style tour boasts the only flying trapeze in the UK.
A spokesman said: “They bring performing skills learned and polished over six generations of Big Top artistry.
“They represent a colourful cultural heritage which delights old and young alike.
“Brothers Ernest and Roger Santus are members of some of France’s most illustrious circus families.
“Taking on almost every sort of skill and presentation, from hand-balancing and trapeze to unicycling, juggling, and acrobatics, they’ve performed across Europe and in Asia, and they’ve won top prizes at the prestigious Monte Carlo Circus Festival.
“This is traditional circus with a French flavour.”
The 2019 production includes top international artistes from Mongolia, Colombia, Germany, Switzerland, Britain and France.
Performances feature flying trapeze, high-wire walkers, the ‘Chinese pole’, aerial performances, mystifying quick-change, hula-hooping, contortionism, and gentle, friendly clowning.”
Tickets are £10 or £45 for a family of two adults and two children.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, tickets are £8 on a first come first served basis.
