MUMS can look forward to a day of vintage fun to celebrate Mother’s Day.

The East Anglian Railway Museum is going full steam ahead with its Mother’s Day celebrations next Sunday.

Children can treat mum to a vintage makeover, flowers and even jazz singers as part of the event.

Not only will mums be VIP guests on the day but the museum is also expecting a visit from a special GWR #813 steam locomotive which families can take a ride on.

The train will be coming from the Severn Valley Preservation Trust.

As well as having the chance to ride the trains, mums can also kick back and relax at a special Mother’s Day carvery.

Families can book into the Victorian Goods Shed for a roast dinner with all the trimmings. The carvery must be pre-booked. To make a reservation, call the caterers on 01787 311556 or email info@jamtartz.com or information@earm.co.uk.

If a roast dinner isn’t your mum’s thing then the museum still has something to offer.

The Chappel Station Cafe will also be open, serving afternoon teas and daily specials.

Guests are encouraged to travel in by train, which offers ten per cent off the museum admission.

The museum is open from 10am to 4.30pm. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children. Mums go free for the special event as well as children under the age of four.

Prices for the carvery lunch are £20 for two courses or £25 for three courses.
