FORMER offices could be converted into holiday homes.
The Brands Direct head office was based in Kings Road, Halstead, before moving to Felsted.
Now the company has applied for planning permission to convert the office into eight short-term holiday homes.
Brands Direct says the new venture would be a positive and sustainable use of the site.
The application says: “The site can described as being sustainable and an ideal location for short-term business lets that serve both international guests of Brands Direct, members of the business community who travel to the area, and, as a satellite facility, shall provide accommodation to support the tourist industry of the area.”
The food importing business applied to relocate to Halstead in 2013, but permission was refused.
It wanted to open new premises at the former Mellons DIY store in Kings Road.
