A DOG walking event is set to take place this Sunday which is perfect for our furry friends to raise money for a life-saving cause.

Helihounds is a three-mile springtime dog walk with hundreds of pooches and their owners to raise money for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

This year’s event is taking place on Sunday between 9am and 3pm at the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance HQ in Earls Colne.

Charity officers at Earls Colne Business Park have devised a wonderful route that takes walkers into the beautiful Marks Hall Estate nearby.

A dog show is also taking place where proud owners can show off their pets.

If you don’t want to take part in the show, there is still plenty to do browsing stands, picking up some tasty doggy treats and much more.

The event continues to grow in popularity so a big turnout is expected for this year’s event.

Dima Yeremenko, dog training instructor and behaviourist, is back again demonstrating a few tricks you and your dog can do.
