A care home worker who used a resident's own money to buy a new dress has been jailed for fraud.
Abimbola Akinola, 45, was convicted of fraud by false representation during a hearing at Chelmsford Magistrate's Court last month.
Back in June, Akinola was caught on CCTV attempting to buy a dress from a shop in Braintree, using a bank card from a resident of the care home she worked at in Chelmsford.
Despite denying the charge brought against her, Akinola, of Churchill Rise, Chelmsford, was convicted of the offence at a later hearing.
During sentencing, magistrates ordered her to serve 10 weeks behind bars and pay £800 in costs.
Investigating officer DC Simon Gray said: "Abimbola Akinola abused her position of trust and used it to take advantage of a vulnerable person in her care."
