HALSTEAD’S Empire Theatre has now restarted its dementia-friendly cinema screenings which were trialled for a pilot period last year.

Following yesterday’s first dementia-friendly screening of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, theatre bosses are gearing up for the second screening of the calendar.

The shows are designed for people with dementia by having the lights up a little, the sound lower and an interval.

The next free screening is of Finding Your Feet which is set to take place on Thursday, March 14, at 2.30pm.

There will be an interval during the film.

Spaces for wheelchairs are limited to four, so if you do wish to attend and need a wheelchair space, please call the box office to arrange a booking for these spaces.

If you are coming in a Large groups should please also call the box office on 07947 556501 to inform the Empire of their requirements.

The Dementia Cinema has been supported by Care UK and the Empire Theatre and with the help of other sponsors who have provided some funding, with further support from the East of England Co-op and the Dementia Action Alliance.

Future dementia-friendly screenings include Bohemian Rhapsody on April 11 and Mary Poppins Returns on May 9.
