YOUNGSTERS have been given a small taste of what it’s like to be firefighting heroes and heroines thanks to their latest topic at nursery.
Children at Spring Seesaw, in Braintree, have been enjoying visits from firefighters, police officers and vets from the Millennium Way surgery as they look into the subject of jobs.
The firefighters spent time chatting to the youngsters about what they do on a day-to-day basis, gave them advice about staying safe and even let them get behind the wheel of their fire engine.
They also spent some time taking questions from the pupils and gave them a chance to try on some uniforms and get to grips with the equipment.
Braintree PC Andy Holmes has also dropped by the nursery, in Lancaster Way, to speak to the youngsters while veterinary staff enjoyed spending time at Spring Seesaw too.
