A GIRL guiding group could be at risk of closing due to not having enough members.

Rainbow leaders in Halstead are calling out to parents whose daughters may be interested in joining the group.

The group has been running in Halstead for 25 years but currently only has five members.

Leaders are encouraging girls between the ages of five and seven to learn new skills such as first aid, healthy living and helping the local community, as well as raising money for charities.

The Rainbows are run mainly on money that the girls raise themselves.

Each year the girls make Christmas decorations to sell at the Christmas fayre and donate their toys to use as prizes for a tombola.

The group meets every Tuesday at 5pm.

If parents are interested, please go to girlguiding.org.uk and click on ‘register my daughter’.
