HALSTEAD is once again in the battle to have the best blooms in Britain.

In 2017 green-fingered volunteers were crowned joint winner of the town category in the Britain in Bloom competition run by the Royal Horticultural Society.

They are now hoping to secure the accolade once again for the town, after impressed Anglia in Bloom judges put them forward.

The work of the volunteers and residents to make the town its best is tireless.

They are passionate about bringing this award - and many others - home for Halstead.

The town is now renowned for its floral displays and picturesque settings - thanks in part to the dedication of the team.

Over the years the In Bloom team have praised the “fantastic spirit” of the town with judges commenting on the strong community spirit.

Halstead is truly a jewel in Essex’s crown and we should all be proud to play a part in its success.

That is why now we must all rally round to make the town look its best ready for the Britain in Bloom judges later this year.

The team hold regular litter picks and river cleaning events to make sure success is possible.

We as a town can support them by giving up an hour of our day to take part.

Not only does it help their efforts in competitions but it makes our area a nice place to live and work.

Team work is vital to the success of Halstead in Bloom and also to our community.
