THE Gosfield Winter Open Exhibition has come to an end with the winners announced.

This year two artists made the top spot with their paintings.

Neil Higgs and Alison McKinney shared first place for their paintings Merlin Roar and Woodland Stream.

The winning paintings were chosen by members of the public visiting the gallery.

Directors of Gosfield Shopping Village, Beata Pisarska-Piesse and Glenn Piesse, said: "The standard of work shown this year was exceptional and clearly appreciated by our visitors.

"Again the votes were widely cast, every item appeared on the voting slips, and it was very close."

Runners up were Alison McKinney for her painting Deer at Dusk, Joanna Zurek for her painting Elephant and Steffan Gregory for his painting Drinking Alone.

Beata and Glenn added: "The exhibition has been very well supported by our visitors, we think a record number of votes were cast.

"We would like to thank all the artists and visitors for their support and look forward to seeing them in Gosfield again soon."

Winners, Neil and Alison, will share a joint exhibition in Gosfield Gallery in February to showcase their work.
