A shopping centre entrance is set to be radically transformed after council officers gave the green light.

The Grove in Witham will be improved with plans in place to demolish a store unit and instal new signs in a bid to create a 'wider, lighter, brighter entrance'.

The Newland Street entrance will also see new paving installed and columns re-cladded.

In their planning application, bosses said the existing entrance made the shopping centre "invisible" to visitors.

They also stated the revamp would help provide a smart, modern look.
