AN assault at a Halstead hotel has left a 23-year-old with serious injuries, including broken ribs.
Witnesses are being urged to step forward after a man was attacked by another male in the men's toilets at the Dorrington Hotel and Bar, Trinity Street, last year.
Essex police are treating it as an "isolated incident".
A spokesman said: "The victim was taken to hospital with broken vertebrae and broken ribs.
"He also suffered an injury to his lip that will need surgery.
"Enquiries remain ongoing and we want to speak to anyone who was in the venue and saw what happened."
The victim was assaulted sometime between 9.30pm and 10pm on Thursday, December 27.
