The family of a footballer killed in a car crash have paid tribute to their "incredible" partner, brother and son.

Reis Farley-Hearn, 28, tragically died after his Mercedes panel van was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Tiguan in Dunmow Road, Thaxted.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Mr Farley-Hearn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tributes have poured in for Mr Farley-Hearn, who was from Black Notley, and his family have now released a joint statement where they admit they are heartbroken and devastated by his death.

The family said: "“Reis was the most incredible partner, brother, son, uncle, godfather and friend.

“He was always the loudest and funniest character in the room and had everyone continuously laughing.

“Reis would always care for all his family and friends and was the most loyal person.

“We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken at this time.

“Reis is now back in the comfort of his mum, who sadly passed away eight years ago. We love and miss you, forever and always.”

Mr Farley-Hearn played as a striker for White Notley FC and also spent time with Braintree Town, Witham Town and Halstead Town.
