A MUM of one has created a place for fellow mums and mums-to-be to go to unwind and relax.

Laura McBride set up Mother Hen Club after the birth of her daughter, Rosie.

She wanted to provide a a place where mums and mums-to-be can network with each other, meet new people and relax.

For a lot of mums, finding time to do this can be a struggle, so Laura created "mummy retreats."

Set in a large but cosy coach house in Wethersfield in Braintree, each retreat is all about indulgent relaxation.

Members of the Mother Hen Group told Laura they wanted more "me time" which is what inspired her to design the "mummy retreats" in Wethersfield.

The retreats consist of exercise, nutritional meals, spa treatments and workshops.

Laura, who is from Epping said: "Women are often worrying about everyone else, and forget to set out some time for themselves to truly switch off, relax and look after themselves.

"I think the retreats are a way of giving women back some of their own time, doing the things they enjoy and meeting other women going through the same journey as them."

The next mum-to-be day retreat is on January 19.
