BRAINTREE Council are appealing to the public after a "huge" amount of waste has been dumped in Sible Hedingham.

A pile of rubbish including a tire and other lorry parts, have been fly-tipped in a by-way off Blois Hall Road in Sible Hedingham on November 18.

The council posted on their social media:"Anyone with information about this fly-tip, whether you saw a skip or tipped lorry carrying this type of waste in the area or if you had this type of waste removed from your own premises, please contact us.

"If you want to help us with our battle against fly-tipping, let us know if you are aware of a fly-tip incident in the district and if you can offer information which might lead to an offender being caught."

Councillor Richard van Dulken, deputy cabinet member for environment and place at Braintree District Council, said: “It is truly shocking to see the extent and nature of this fly-tip and to know that those responsible could not care less about the impact their actions have on the environment and the taxpayers who will have to pay the clear-up costs.

"Fly tipping is a criminal offence and we are determined to track down the culprits and bring them to book, so we’d urge anyone with any information about this incident- no matter how insignificant it may seem- to please get in touch and help us catch the people who did this.”

Anyone with any information can contact the Street Scene Enforcement Team on 01376 552525 or visit www.braintree.gov.uk/flytipping and complete the online reporting form.
