PLANS are underway to convert a former pub into a house.

What was The Bull Inn, in Wethersfield, is hoped to become a dwelling with an annex.

The restored grade II listed building which dates back to the fifteenth century, was closed in October last year in order to prevent further losses.

The pub has been closed several times since the 1980's, for similar reasons.

In 2013 applications to convert the pub into a house were put forward, but were opposed by more than 700 people and turned down by Braintree Council before Belinda and Colin Coleman acquired the pub with the vision of reopening it.
