A drama group will be stealing from the rich and giving to the poor during its Christmas pantomime.

The Sudbury Dramatic Society is now busy rehearsing ahead of its production of Robin Hood, which is coming to the Quay Theatre in December.

This year’s pantomime has been written and directed by Mike Fahie-Wilson, along with the help of Bez Berry. The dramatic society’s version of Robin Hood sees the traditional setting of Nottingham cats aside in a twist which few will be expecting.

A spokesman for the group said: “Robin Hood is a tale of heroes and villains, love, romance and adventure in Olde Suffolk.

“Not many people know that Maid Marion was a local lass nor that the wicked sheriff of Nottingham and his evil mother had designs on our fair county.”

Those going to see the pantomime are set for a a family feast of fun and will be on the edge of their seats as they wait to find out if Robin and his merry men can come out on top.

The heroes will of course require some help from their audience, as well as a punky fairy and unlikely animals.

Robin Hood will be coming to the Quay Theatre on Saturday, December 15 at 7.30pm.

Further performances will take place throughout the following two weeks and the final production will take place on New Years Day at 3pm.
