An inquest investigating the death of a man found dead in the bath at his home in Halstead has opened.
Damien Wood, 44, was found unresponsive in the bath at his property on Monday, August 6.
Police were called to the scene and confirmed Mr Wood's death at 4.38pm.
Investigations took place, however there were no suspicious circumstances found.
Mr Wood is believed to have drowned whilst drunk.
Speaking at Chelmsford Corner's Court on Monday, coroner's officer Andrew Kimche said: "A post mortem was carried out and found the cause of death to be 1A drowning and 1B alcohol intoxication.
"Toxicology samples were also taken."
Area coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray listed the full inquest to take place on Monday, April 8, 2019.
She added: "I will require a copy of the post mortem and also the toxicology results.
"We do not yet know whether I will require a copy of the police statements.
"The family can write in what they like to me for evidence at the inquest."
