Volunteers are needed for this year's Christmas fayre.

The annual event run by Halstead Chamber of Trade sees a host of market stalls set up along High Street and community groups offering various forms of entertainment.

The fayre also coincides with the official switch on of the Christmas Lights in the public gardens.

A spokesman for the chamber of trade said: "We are looking for people who want to get involved in their local community to help with tasks ranging from helping with the raffle before the day to being a Marshall on the day itself.

"It doesn’t matter if you can only commit to one or two hours on the day, every little helps.

"Last year was a really lovely and enjoyable event with a real feel of community spirit. We had some great feedback from visitors to the town, and we really want to build on the success of last year."

The Christmas Fayre takes place between 9am and 4pm on Saturday, December 1.

Anyone able to volunteer or wanting to set up a stall on the day should email christmasinhalstead@gmail.com.
