A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot.

The suspect was arrested at around 7am this morning in connection with an incident where a man was shot in the stomach at an address in Warley Street, Great Warley in the early hours of Monday October 22.

The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.

The 20-year-old was also arrested for possession of a firearm as well as in connection with three aggravated burglaries in Braintree, Brentwood and Corringham between Sunday October 21 and Wednesday October 24.

The suspect from South Ockendon remains in custody for questioning.
