A council will unveil an action plan which highlights the key issues in the town it is seeking to address.

Halstead town councillors are set to discuss the plan during a meeting at Queen's Hall on Monday.

Some of the issues included in the scheme include lobbying the Environment Agency to address the decline in the River Colne.

The council will also seek funding to repair the footbridge near Sainsbury's car park which has been closed for safety reasons since 2014.

A document which will be put before councillors says the publication of the action plan will provide greater transparency and openness with residents.

Having a clear plan of action will also help the town council's bid to claim the Local Council Foundation Award which recognises the very best authorities in the UK.

The meeting gets underway at 7.15pm. All residents are welcome to attend.
