PLANS for a funeral home in a town centre shopping centre are set to get the backing of a town council.
Co-operative Funeralcare applied for permission to open the home in an empty unit at the Newlands Shopping Centre in Witham.
The space was previously used by the Bibity Bobity Boo beauty room and boutique.
Witham Town Council has recommended no objection to the plans ahead of a planning meeting tomorrow night.
If successful, it will include a reception area, arrangement room, tea preparation area and toilet facilities as well as a viewing room and 'holding' area.
The final decision will be made by Braintree Council's planning committee.
