Voluntary and community organisations are invited to apply for grants from the Tampon Tax Community Fund.

The Fund, which is being managed by Essex Community Foundation (ECF), was set up by the Government and receives money generated from the VAT on sanitary products.

Grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 are available to support projects which will help women and girls have the best future possible.

Caroline Taylor, chief executive of ECF, said: “We know there are many voluntary organisations in Essex that are helping women and girls to improve their lives through local initiatives.

"These could include, but are not limited to, helping them into employment, raising awareness of health issues or creating inclusive peer networks.

“Grants are available to support ongoing work, staff costs for specific projects or to expand or start a new initiative, so please contact our grants team today.”

The deadline for applications to be received is November 5.
