A van driver has been arrested after a motorcyclist was left in a life-threatening condition.
Officers were called to reports of a crash involving a red Honda motorbike and a silver Vauxhall van in Halstead High Street shortly before 8.30pm last night (Friday, September 21).
Police and paramedics arrived and the motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man, was taking to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He remains in a critical condition.
The van driver, a 22-year-old man from Halstead, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.
Police are appealing for anyone who was driving in the area around this time and saw or has dash cam footage of the incident.
