A bookshop which raises funds for a hospice is to relocate to Halstead High Street.

St Helena Hospice’s much loved Books and Coffee shop is to open later this month after it closed in its original location in St Johns Street in Colchester.

The store will feature a host of pre-owned best selling books along with a small selection of CDs and DVDs.

The new shop in Halstead will also offer an Amazon area where customers wishing to buy high value items sold by the hospice through Amazon and Ebay can view the goods before buying.

St Helena’s say its current store on Halstead High Street will not be impacted by the arrival of the bookstore and will continue to offer clothing and accessories.

Ian Daniels, the charity’s head of retail, said: “We were devastated to share the sad news with our supporters that our Books and Coffee shop was having to close but we are pleased that we are able to provide an alternative home for our vast library of books.

"The shop is the perfect location to browse a wide range of books alongside giving the unique opportunity for online shoppers to see Amazon items before making their sale.

"We’re excited to welcome our supporters to the relaunch of our shop.”

The bookshop will open on Monday, July 23 at 9am.
