The town’s fire station will open its doors to members of the public later this summer.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has announced Halstead Fire Station, off Parsonage Street, is one of a number which will be allowing residents to visit.
Residents will get the chance to take a look around the station, which recently celebrated its 50th birthday.
Fire engines and equipment will be laid out on display, while firefighters will also be on hand to field questions.
Demonstrations will take place as well, as the public is shown how firefighters cut people free from crashed cars.
Children’s entertainment will come in the shape of fun games and activities taking place, while there will also be stalls and refreshments available.
The open day takes place on Saturday, July 14.
Doors will be open from 10am until 4pm.
