A NEW nail and beauty salon is set to open it’s doors to customers for the first time next weekend.

Smudge, in High Street, Earls Colne, will offer treatments such as pedicures, manicures and waxing.

Sibel Zeycan, who is the owner of the new shop, said she was looking forward to the grand opening.

She said: “I’ve wanted to own my own salon for years and nails and make-up are my real passion.

“I enjoy the atmosphere of a salon - I feel more comfortable there and I think customers do too because otherwise you’re having treatments in someone’s home.”

The salon has been painted and decorated but is still waiting for some finishing touches ahead of opening.

Miss Zeycan said: “I believe the shop used to be an estate agents so it’s been quite a bit of work to turn it into what it is now.

“We’re going to be open five days a week at first to see how it goes but further along the line I think we can open for six days.

“I’d also like to do some evening openings because that’s when people finish work and I think having somewhere for people to go on a Friday night to get their make-up done would be great.”

An open day will be held at the shop on April 21 with 15 percent off being offered on treatments to celebrate the opening.

“Having heard what people in the village have had to say I think it’s going to be a real hit and I think there’s a real desire for this.

“I really hope people can come along for the open day.”
