THOUSANDS of pounds were raised for Children in Need, including at the East Anglian Railway Museum where an attempt was made to break a world record.
Two staff members from the museum joined two BBC presenters in attempting to set a world record distance on a pump trolley.
The quartet were unable to break the record within the one hour time limit but helped the East of the England region raise £4.9 million.
A party celebrating the attempt was later held in the evening where more than 200 guests turned out to show their support.
Catherine Harrison, the museum’s communications manager, said: “The day was a great success.
“It definitely exceeded expectations.”
