HALSTEAD and Sible Hedingham’s fire stations are on the look-out for more on-call firefighters.
The position will give the chance to take on new roles, learn new skills and face new challenges.
The service is looking to slash spending on wholetime fire crews following a review, in order to save money.
Traditionally on-call firefighters live or work in small towns or villages and are called out by pager from either their home address or place of work.
You must live or work within five minutes of an on-call fire station, be over 18 and be physically fit.
You will be paid for attending calls, any training undertaken and maintenance work plus a ‘retaining’ fee for the hours you provide cover for.
