A HALSTEAD man who killed himself ensured there was money left to pay for his funeral.

Steven Wright, 55, was found unresponsive in his home in Parker Way, Halstead on May 6 this year.

Emergency services attended but Mr Wright was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination was carried out with the cause of death found to be hanging.

On Wednesday Essex Coroner’s Court heard a note and envelope full of money had been found in Mr Wright’s home by the emergency services.

Area Coroner Eleanor McGann said: “Following the discovery of Steven Wright in his home a search of the house was conducted where a note was discovered, along with an envelope which contained £3,000 in cash, which had the words ‘funeral money’ written on it.

“The note said ‘I’m so, so, sorry, I just can’t take any more pain.

“Reports sent from members of the family detail how Mr Wright had never managed to overcome the death of his wife.”

She ruled Mr Wright killed himself.
