PLANS to build two new homes just off Halstead High Street have been rejected.
Framlar Developments Ltd applied for permission to build two new properties on land to the rear of Market Hill, Halstead.
The same developer was granted permission to turn another part of the same address, the former home of Halstead Carpet and Curtain Co, into six properties and a wine bar.
Responding to the planning application, Essex Highways objected to the proposals on the grounds that it did not provide sufficient off-road parking.
The Highways response also states it would cause “intensification of use of the site without adequate turning facilities”.
Halstead Town Council also decided to object to the proposals on the grounds of access.
Nearby residents expressed their objection to the plans.
