Building equipment has been stolen from a container.
Thieves broke into the site near St Peter’s View, in Sible Hedingham, and stole a generator, a concrete saw and a wacker plate on Thursday night.
Jim Lang, who owns the equipment, said: “It is really frustrating.
“You get to know your own equipment and how it handles.
“We were only gone half an hour when the thieves broke into the site and container.
“The next door neighbour saw the gate had been lifted up so we know it happened around that time.
“You never know if you have been targeted or not.”
A spokesman from Essex Police said: “Police are investigating a burglary at a construction site in St Peters View, Sible Hedingham, which happened between 5.45pm and 7.10pm on February 4.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.”
