An 84-year-old woman is concerned about breaking her ankle on a pavement.
Phyllis Payne walks from her house in Nether Court to Halstead high street almost every day as she enjoys the exercise.
However, her route takes her along Colchester Road, where she say the surface of the footpath needs some serious work.
“It has always been a bit dicey along there,” she said.
“There are trees overgrowing the footpath and the surface of the asphalt has been broken up in places and left in little piles.
“It was reported about five months ago, but nothing has happened.
“It is in a bad state and I am a bit worried about my ankles.
“If I was younger I could just skip through it, but I am 84 years old.
“It is becoming more of an obstacle course.
“Something needs to be done about this footpath.”
