Cash, jewellery and silverware have been taken in a house burglary.
Andy Green, 39, of Russell Road, Gosfield, came home to find a window of his house smashed.
The partner at Richard Edwards, in Rosemary Lane, Halstead, said: “They stole quite a lot.
“I was due to go on holiday the next day so that wasn’t nice, having to stay up with the police until midnight and then having to get an early flight the next morning.
“It was horrible - makes you feel unsafe.
“We have put cameras up now.
“Our cleaner was there in the morning and she said she thought she saw someone suspicious hanging about.
“She said someone was staring into the house from the road.
“She looked at him and he looked at her and she said he looked evil.
“He must have waited for her to leave and then broken in.”
The burglary happened between 11.30am and 2.30pm on August 13.
