A Halstead youngster is opening his own stall at the town’s market.

Jacob Hayes, 19, worked on the fruit and veg stall in Halstead since he was 12.

“I think I lied about my age to get the job,” the former Ramsey Academy pupil said.

“I always wanted money and had five different paper rounds as well.

“I worked on the stall on Saturdays and sometimes all day Friday if I bunked off of school.

“It kept me quite busy - that’s probably why my GCSE grades weren’t great.”

He will be opening his own dried fruit and nuts stall, called Completely Nuts, on July 17 and 18 in Halstead.
