A Michelin-trained chef who learnt from the likes of Gary Rhodes is set to cook up a storm in a farm coffee shop.

Mark Peters, who honed his art in Michelin star restaurants, will take over the rustic Greenstead Farm cafe to serve a sumptuous seven-course menu for the night.

The pop-up restaurant is set become a more regular fixture if the debut night is a success.

The Grade II listed barn, which normally serves cream teas and Sunday Roasts, will smarten up on April 18 where smoked duck breast, marinated lobster and prime beef fillet will be among the posh treats on offer.

Chris Butler, who owns the farm, said: "It’s the first time we’ve had something like this at the farm and we have had a lot of interest.

"Hopefully it’s something we can carry on with in the future."

Mr Peters, who learnt his pomme puree recipe from Gary Rhodes himself, said: "The barn is a lovely venue and we are really looking forward to it.

"The pop-up restaurants I have done in Suffolk have been very successful and the plan is to do a regular one at Greenstead Farm.

"I think it will be great."
