Battle lines were drawn at the site of a Norman keep.
Hedingham Castle played host to the Medieval Siege Society today and yesterday, to the delight of spectators who were given an insight into a way of life from years gone by.
Visitors were able to test their skill with archery, dance around a maypole and admire birds of prey.
Youngsters also had fun hunting for a dragon’s egg and familes enjoyed period music.
For those interested in the history of the 900-year-old keep, questions were answered during guided tours.
