Get into the festive spirit with the Halstead Christmas Fayre this Saturday.
From 9am there will be the regular market stalls and new ones selling items including sweets, jams, jewellery, honey, Christmas puddings, cheese and gifts. Enjoy a hog roast and try some special Christmas ice creams.
There will be entertainment and stalls in Weavers Court from 10am-4pm, including the Exaltation Gospel Choir, local schools, dance groups and performing arts school.
Look out for the street magician and Melford Silver Band performing throughout the town and the Open Mic stage in front of the old Post Office (have a go at singing to the public yourself).
Many shops will be hosting their own activities, the Head Street Gallery will be offering complementary mince pies and cakes and hosting a colouring competition for children, Anouk who are offering 10% off everything in store and a glass of fizz, and Lobb’s Cycles has a cycling challenge.
Father Christmas will be in his grotto and a Letter to Santa Station will be at the EACH shop.
When the market and fayre finish at 4pm, make your way to the Public Gardens for the Christmas lights switch-on hosted by Santa Claus. Holy Trinity Church is hosting the chamber of trade's meet and greet at 5pm, including refreshments and a chance to see the Holy Trinity Christmas tree sparkle.
