A bird and butterfly haven is sprouting up thanks to the efforts of volunteers.
Halstead in Bloom members, local residents and Braintree Council’s community landscape officer Amanda Turburville planted a variety of wildflowers last Wednesday and seeded the Mill Green area with yellow rattle, which helps to restrict the growth of other, unwanted plants.
Planting the wildflower plugs will help enhance the biodiversity of the area which already attracts birds, moths, birds and butterflies.
