The death of a keen golfer has inspired others at his club to raise money for a defibrillator.
Colne Valley Golf Club’s former golf captain, Peter McKay, 50, of Halstead, died suddenly of a cardiac arrest during a game while he was on holiday in Tunisia in April.
His friends, Roger Cook and Jerry Callow, who are also members of the Colne Valley Golf Club, organised a fun day on August 23 to remember Peter and to raise money for a defibrillator for the club.
Mr Cook, 50, of Great Cornard, said: “We raised about £3,000 although the amount hasn’t yet been finalised."
