A date has still not been set for repairs to a “dreadful” road - despite work being scheduled to begin during the last 18 months.
Chipping Hill and Broom Hill were originally listed on November 5, 2012, for temporary road closures so repairs could be carried out within the following 18 months.
But a year and a half later and work is now scheduled to begin during the next 18 months, starting from May 1 and no date has yet been set for them to begin.
Town Mayor David Hume lives in Pretoria Road, Halstead, just a few streets away from Chipping Hill.
He said: “The road is in a dreadful state.
“I hope it’s done sooner rather than later, it’s well over due and long delayed.”
