Trustees of a village hall are celebrating after being handed more than £3,000 of lottery funding for improvement works.
The committee of Memorial Hall, in Church Lane, Castle Hedingham, which is registed as a charity, has been awarded £3,570 by the Big Lottery Fund to replace inefficient gas central heating and hot water boilers with a modern, efficient combi boiler.
The hall was one of 12 recipients of grants in the east of England, who received a combined £96,660.
