Essex County Council is holding a dementia roadshow in Braintree today.
Current estimates suggest that 22,300 people across Essex are living with dementia.
The council, in partnership with North Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, have found that brain training and group learning activities and physical activity such as walking, swimming, aerobics can help delay onset.
The roadshow at George Yard shopping centre in Braintree today features a memory bank which allows residents to record a treasured memory and try brain training games.
It will also be held at Tesco in Dunmow on March 18.
