Pantomime performers are having a well-earned rest after a weekend of four action-packed performances.
The Stane Street Players performed their annual pantomime on Saturday and Sunday at the Empire Theatre, Butler Road, Halstead.
This year’s pantomime was Old King Cole, starring Duncan McCubbine in the title role.
The amateur production also featured colourful and dazzling costumes and set backdrops.
Jackie Card, of the Stane Street Players, said: “We had virtually three sell-out performances and on Sunday we did a bit of a trial having an extra performance, which was about half-full.
“It was brilliant and we are really pleased, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We are all recovering now!”
The group’s attentions now turn to a dramatised reading of Animal Farm, a fundraising event for Lamarsh Church, on Saturday, February 9.
Its spring production, Trivial Pursuits, will take place in May.
Stane Street Players, the amateur dramatic society for Earls Colne and Halstead, would welcome new members of all ages and experience. Visit stanestreetplayers.co.uk
