Angry residents are up in arms after years of vandalism to their cars.
Karen Hughes and her neighbours in Kings Road, Halstead, who have no on street parking directly outside or behind their homes, have called for double yellow lines outside a former DIY store to be removed to ensure their vehicles are within sight.
Mrs Hughes, 42, said they faced a daily dilemma between being hounded by parking enforcement officers for parking on the lines outside the former Mellons shop, which shut last April, or parking further along the road near the King George V playing fields and take their chance with the vandals.
