HISTORY In 1824 Robert Hunt, set up a millwrighting and wheelwrighting shop and smithy that soon gained a local reputation for making general agricultural equipment and thereafter country-wide recognition.

The business continued to grow to become a major employer, and by 1900 employed approximately half of the male working population of the village.

By 1970 the site covered 10 acres, unfortunately the business subsequently declined and the works were closed in 1988.

The sympathetic conversion and adaption of the workshops offers the opportunity to own a piece of industrial heritage in the heart of the popular village of Earls Colne.

PROPERTY On entering the property, the quality of the restoration and wealth of history is immediately apparent with the impressive vaulted ceiling that runs the length of the building and the numerous exposed beams.

The property opens to a large open plan living / dining area (including a storage cupboard), this in turn leads through to the well-appointed kitchen featuring SMEG range cooker and extractor hood, integrated dishwasher and space for both a large American style fridge freezer and separate wine chiller.

Two sets of staircases, one to the front of the property, (leading to the galleried landing) and one to the rear, provide access to the second floor. All three bedrooms are spacious doubles.

The master bedroom and the third bedroom both benefit from mezzanine floor dressing areas. The four-piece en-suite shower room to the master bedroom is comprised of a shower cubicle, handbasin, toilet, bidet and heated towel rail.
