NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Essex County
Council are proposing to designate entire
length of Rectory Lane between its junctions
with Forest Road, Witham and Rickstones
Road, Rivenhall.
Quiet Lanes are a positive way of:
• Providing a chance for people to walk, cycle
and horse ride in a safer environment
• Widening transport choice; and protecting
the character and tranquillity of country lanes.
The approved sign for a quiet lane advises
users that it is a road where equestrians,
pedestrians and cyclists are expected to
be seen and is designed in such a way as
to advise motor vehicles that consideration
for other users is expected.
The draft designation, plan and statement
of reasons for the proposal can be viewed
at Witham Library, Newland Street, Witham
on Mondays to Fridays 9:00-19:00 and
Saturdays 9:00-17:00 12:00-16:30, Network
Assurance, A2 Annex Seax House, Victoria
