A SUPERB second-half comeback saw Halstead Town peg back the Thurlow Nunn League division one leaders.

The Humbugs headed to front runners Woodbridge Town looking to bounce back from a dismal 4-0 defeat at rock-bottom side Needham Market Reserves the week before and things weren't going their way at the break.

Despite an encouraging start from the visitors, Woodbridge were clinical with their chances and held a 2-0 interval lead, however, that was as good as it got for the hosts.

Halstead pulled themselves back into the game when James Baker and Adam Hampson combined to set up Karl Andrade, who slotted the ball in to make it 2-1.

Andrade was also involved in Halstead's equaliser as he fired in a shot that was saved by the home keeper, before Baker tucked away the loose ball to secure a 2-2 draw for the Humbugs.

There was no joy for LITTLE OAKLEY, though, as Debenham LC secured a scrappy win at the Memorial Ground thanks to a goal from substitute James Watling.

And there was frustration for HOLLAND FC as they saw their scheduled game at Leiston Reserves postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

However, Friday night action saw BRAINTREE TOWN RESERVES celebrating a fourth consecutive victory.

The free-scoring Young Irons have hit 18 goals in those four games, with their latest success coming with a 4-1 victory against Needham Market Reserves.

Lewis Stantiall, Jordan Sargent, Ethan Evison and Jett Hogan scored to secure their latest three-point haul.
